ph ,sorry I just saw your post... I've never had the wheel off . but I appreciate the tip. The only other info I can offer is that my speedo has not worked for months and changing the rear wheel speed sensor did not fix it . cluster checks ok , no obvious wiring issues that i can see so that might point to a sketchy pcm .

When my '01 speedo quit it was the ABS Module, I would post the part # but I think the '99 is different. I found a used one on ebay. I also think it might be a good idea to send my old one in for rebuilding, they are about 30% of the cost of new and have a lifetime warranty.

Wouldn't that trigger the abs light?

It didn't with mine plus now the speedo is right with GPS. When I went to 285's on the tires it's was off, so apparently the ABS is what controls that. I can't drive without cruise:)

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was that adjusting the steering wheel up and down would bind the wires leading to the ignition switch causing intermittent starting problems.

No...I pretty much adjusted it when I bought it...and haven't messed with it since.but I will consider your input when I troubleshoot.

It does to me and I think it points to the over pressure issue. The original lift pump set up is supposed to supply 7 pound pressure while cranking and 10 pounds while engine is running. The overflow valve opens at 14 pounds after. bg

Fixed your title for you. :)

Could be a PCM issue, could be a fuel pressure issue. How do you have the LP wired? Is it runnning all the time or tied to the PCM relay?

Thanks for the info and thanks for the title fix :) the Raptor pump uses the stock harness so I assume pcm still controls lift pump as it did stock pump.

How long are the LP run times when you try the restart? A gauge to monitor existing pressure is probably a good start to see if it going and staying high.

I am at work today but I will install a gauge and check pressure and runtimes and will start a new thread so as not to clog up the 911 forum. Thanks for your input.Rich

If it straved out, would it "fire right up"? Snoking

I put a raptor on my 02 and for some reason would hard start but would eventually start after awhile. I happend to pull the cap and heard air rushing into the tank. So I left the cap loose and never had a problem. Sold the pickup so I never got a chace to figure out what vent was plugged.

The water trick across the vp computer does work. I have used it many time on dead 2nd gens
