Lately, after I drive my truck for awhile, when I park and shut it down I can hear a soft buzzing sound coming from under the middle of the truck. When I loosen the fuel cap, pressure is released and the buzzing quits.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this noise? It's driving me crazy trying to figure it out!

This just started about 2 weeks ago, have about 49,000 miles on the truck and no problems except for this! Sounds like a herd of killer bees are living underneath it. (Other then the 'Killer B' under the hood):D

Judging by the symptoms you described, I'd venture a guess to say you might have the infamous "Cap' left on the vent at the fuel sending unit on top of the fuel tank... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... or you ran over a "ricer" with the typical "Bumble Bee In A Beer Can" exhaust. :-laf

The noise is probably the vent on the fuel tank module venting pressure or vacuum. The tank cap is supposed to do this also at a lower pressure/vacuum. I think your cap isn't doing it's job and the tank vent took over. I've never tried to take one of these caps apart but have done others, they're pretty simple. Most likely just a bug clogging it up.

Mine does it too, from what I've heard it doesn't hurt so I've just learned to live with it. Whenever I park and shut down I listen for the buzz, if its there I just loosen the cap and retighten real quick.
