It started last night. I was going to drive my truck to work and the engine was making a strange noise at idle. I drove it about 100 yards and turned around and drove it back to the house and took the wifes car. Got home this morning and thought I would check it out. It was cold last night so I plugged the truck in and waited about an hour. Went and started the truck and it was making that noise again. It kind of sounds more like a 2nd gen. But it sounds like a bearing is trying to go out. It sounds like it is coming from the smooth pulley on top between the alternator and the top pulley on the engine. Going to take it to the dealership next week. Any idea what could be making that sound?

I put this in the wrong forum is there a way to move it?

Is that an idler pulley (can't recall)? If so, it's quite possible it went bad on you. An easy, inexpensive repair (I think).

Had truck towed to dealership yesterday . They called and said it was a bad water pump. Said would have to keep it over night. But the good news is, it well be covered under warranty and they have called this morning and said it is ready.
