Honda used the same song in British radio commercials about a year ago. It was on Virgin Radio numerous times a day, but this is the first time that I saw the hippy-ish commercial. Funky.

It is interesting that an American, Garrison Keillor of A Prairie Home Companion fame, is the person singing the diesel song for the British market. Why not a Brit, I wonder?

The British automotive press has been singing the praises of Honda's diesel. It stacks up well against European-built automotive diesels, apparently.

It is a shame that Americans are too dumb to demand more diesel cars and a shame that Detroit is too dumb to see the recent sales successes of diesels already sold here. (VW TDIs, Mercedes E-Class CDI, Freightliner and Dodge Sprinters, and Liberty CRDs. )

I watched it acouple of times and came to the conclusion that ITS A COMERCIAL! I am attacked and offended daily with liberal c#$%. This doesent bug me. A car Diesel should be quiet. Mind you I'm running 4" strait pipes on my Trucks.

I liked the Two rams Butting together.

I have read reviews and heard news about the Honda diesel. It is supposed to be a revolutionary little engine. Packs as much punch as their V-6 gassers with better fuel economy than their 4 popper gassers. It is rumored to be heading our way with the arrival of ULSD.

Honestly, they need to play that silly commercial here with the arrival of their diesel. It would actually be a good image to some of these enviro-nazi's who all talk about "hybrid this, hybrid that". These new automotive diesels are very clean, powerful, quiet and fuel efficient. Stupid commerial, but it does get the point across.

Thats a great commercial. Anything that developes emotional response, be it like or dislike sticks in your mind (and sells products). Anything that promotes more diesel options in vehicles is positive as far as I'm concerned. Like them or not Honda also makes an awesome product. They may not sell cars with alot of character and style but they're reasonably priced, get great mileage and require very little maintenance. My daily driver is a '92 Civic hatch (non-ricer and bone stock) that gets 40mpg with over 230k on the clock. It has never needed anything more than normal maintenance and tune ups w/ 0 oil consumption. Would I buy a Honda diesel? Helll Yeah! Just let one hit our shores.

We could have used a commercial like that during the Olympics here and there for a chuckle to break up some of the relentless Suburban ads :-laf
