I have a 06 mega. 96K miles

i have been having intermittent hard start and some random idle lops and slight misses. Today i head a new noise that it very different then normal. It sounds like a spray bottle, (the noise of the liquid, not the trigger). I can hear it over the engine and it matches the rpm, as it is raised.

No leaks, seems to run normal, but left at dealer, (lead tech listened to it/has never heard that noise before, and they cant get to it till Tuesday. New fuel filter about 2K ago. It seems like an air or liquid sound. Oil level seems the same. on drove it about 30 miles after i noticed the noise.

Any ideas?

Please. . no truck no money to make... . (self employed)

How about a boost and/or CAI leak... check all of the hose clamps from the filter box to turbo to intercooloer to intake manifold... you might find one loose. If not, there is a way to put a cap on and pressurize the boost system and see if it leaks down.
Just a guess... since there is no signs of fuel lines leaking.

good idea. but the sound was not constant
at idle it the sound lasted about 1 second, then about . 3 sec of no noise. (so it was/is kinda pluseating. ) if it was an intake air leak, would the air (noise) be constant?

Does the turbo have boost at idle?
i don't know, no gauges. .

it been way above 80 for week in tx.
I havent noticed.
with ingition on, (dashlights on) i do hear a light clicking noise (engine off)
in the engine. i asume thats not the grid heaters. (at 85* F)
Do that help?

I am thinking of going to dealer and looking much closer to see if it a simple fix. dealer said my oil was
"really black" lol retards... .
