Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) strange noise, lend an ear please

just today my truck made a new noise. when idleing after cold startup (85' outside), just as i hit the go pedal, an odd tinny, popping sort of noise comes from what sounds like the tail pipe area; i can hear the sound reflected off other cars out my passenger window. once engine revs up, stops. only on first few revs above idle. after warms up, doesnt do it. also, new ticking sound while idling seems new under the hood, but i cant find where its coming from.

Id check for a cracked exhaust manifold, or at least some missing manifold bolts to start with.

When the spring on my lift pump started to get weak it ticked. You might be able to isolate it with a stethascope.
