Just wanted to mentioned how my VP failed. 72k on truck, one lift pump 2k ago. Put on tst power max 1 month ago. Test run resulted in hard miss at wot on level 9, then a intermittant rough idle. Lift pump died 2 days later (weak already maybe??), no guages at that time. Intermittant rough idle became more common, and after towing would get rough idle then limp mode once the truck was turned off and restarted, until the truck cooled off (4-5hrs). No apparent power loss, no smoke, no hard starts, no 216 code, but got alot of codes, some pertaining to electronic operation of VP. Replaced fuel filter and map sensor... nada. Replaced the 44 last night (tst unhooked for now) and towed 5k load this morning, no problems (fingers crossed). Not going to say all is good yet, but seems to be, as soon as I towed with the old vp i got the rough idle. Hope this might help someone in the future. Oh yeah, thanks a million cumminstuff.com, $750 for my 44, and yes it is brand spankin new 2002 HO pump!

What I heard:

Blah blah blah blah blah,AND NO GAUGES AT THE TIME. blah blah blah blah... ...

I am curious how many VP's have failed among those w/ Fp guages in? I hope I didn't waste my moneu putting one in.

Anyhow, I am glad you got your truck back up and running, and that price for a NEW VP44 is almost impossible to beat!! Good going!

13psi @ idle, 9psi cruisin ~70mph... VP44 failed while running uphill w/ a trailer @ cruisin' speed... so pretty much no warning. Not sure my gauge was any help.
