strange window switch Electrical Grimlin

2006 Mega Cab 5.9 cummins. ok Every now and then my window switch decides to quit working and when it does the radio will sometimes turn off and back on and the seat heater switch light on the drivers side will flash. sometimes it resets itself with in 30 seconds. Other times I have to pull the switch out of the drivers door and unplug both plugs and then plug it back in. Once I do that everything works fine. Could it be a short in the switch, something in the tipm? Anyone else have the same issues?

Your case is a little different, but check the wire loom between the door and cab. The wires crack and do strange things. May be your issue, maybe not.

The master control switch panel is known for failing intermittently due to poor solder joints. While they are possible to repair, they ate also full of very small parts that ate difficult to readsemble and might even fly across The room and disappear. That being said simply udinh electrical contact cleaner and compressed air to clean the switches can help for sometime.

My switches went all berserk right after I bought the truck.

Traced it back to the power box in the steering column. I just hot wired once I figured out the right wire from fuse panel.

....sounds to me like the wires in the door threshold or the switch itself is shorting. New switches can be found from -$68-120.... Dorman makes a replacement such as for the 4 door truck.... Dorman 901-448
