Got the Street Pilot III delux version --It is incredible. The price dropped from 1200 to $695. They also give you the new mapsource($199), a 128 MEG card($299), a bean bag mount ($40 ),

extra hard mount. They are not mentioning this deal as of yesterday on the garmin site. It is certainly going to **** off the

previous buyers. You can get them direct order from circuit city, for 995 but I found mine at GPS.com , (Garmins largest distributor)

for $695 . Thanks to the TDR person that back in April told me to wait till the end of June because something was happening

at Garmin. I cannot fool this thing, and it recalculates your routes on wrong turns so quick . It speaks to you on upcoming turns.

Does that thing do well for Off-Road applications also or is it just for the paved roads.

For @700 bucks it better drive for me too... .

I'm thinking of getting the same thing. I have a friend with one and the display is very easy to read in comparison to others I have seen. I would also be interested in how it performs off-road.

As far as off road it will show your position and heading in relation to roads, bodys of water. You can back out from feet to 800 miles.

RJ2 - Will the Garmin work on a boat? Do they have different databases besides streets? Can it be used as a handheld? How do you like it? Got a picture of it mounted in your truck yet? Sorry for all the questions, but I thought I'd get them all out of the way at once. Thanks.

I also have one ?

Is the streetpilot setup the way that RJ2 is referring to also called " UNLOCKED "?If so they have been going for $750 on e-bay

RJ2-

I tried the website you listed. GPS.com. It redirects to some other site. Could you check and let us know? The cheapest place I know of right now is gpscity.com but they still want $779. 95. Thanks for the info.

Dave.

The link is GPSDiscount.com The capital letters have to be exact. I have just been informed by the wife that the total for the unit was $779. Sorry about that guys. They are an

authorized Garmin dealer. Sent a tee shirt also.

Right now it is on the bean bag mount , which is really nice.

I will mount it on a hard mount to get it off the dash, but have to order the remote antenna wire.

No, they don't. Domain names are case-insensitive. The following are all equivalent:

GPSDiscount.com

gpsdiscount.com

GPSDISCOUNT. COM

GpSdIsCoUnT. CoM

The portion of a URL AFTER the domain name (e. g. the "forums" part of www . turbodieselregister . com/forums/) MAY be case-sensitive - it would depend on the server.
