Competition I had to make a few changes to make tech

You know I take a lot of crud from my Ford buddies over at Diesel Innovations (the place I use to work at till I put all that on hold to go back to college), but thanks to someone in the St. Louis area last weekend, I am having to take a WHOLE LOT of heat.

Someone tried to race a white, 2wd, Ford F350 crewcab, and video tape it. Only problem is that the Ford won, and also video tapped it.

HERE IS THE VIDEO FROM THE FORD!

Who is this poor soul, and do you have the video? :(

Andrew

LEGAL DISCLAMER - I do not support racing on the freeway/street, as it is extreamly unsafe. ;)

1st of all that is stupid to advertise on their website (guessing because the link says dieselinnovations), and 2ndly its stupid because of how many people they were having to Dodge before they FINALLY got an open stretch it appeared.

Now I'd be lieing if I said I hadn't done it before, but at least there was no traffic ANYWHERE.

All that being said I dunno if that Dodge was giving it all he had in the end, think he got tired of messing with them at such high speeds! :p :-laf

The link says dieselinnovations because that's where the video is. When ever you click on a link it takes you to where the link is, and the video is on their page. The one driving the truck is the onwer of the shop, does that make more since?

From what I understand, the Dodge knew what he was getting into, and I'm hoping that they understand this post was just for fun. :)

So who was it?

What is the Ford running i. e. performance crap? I would have got in front and switched the box to kill and let the smokin begin.

Unless your running low 13's that wouldn't have happen. That Ford runs mid to low 13's at the track on street tires. From what you have listed in your sig, I don't really think you would take it.

It has injectors, bb turbo, chip, you name it, it has it, literally, except propane or NOS, none on that Ford.

DF, They both smoke plenty. ;)

I've verified Dyno sheets for that Ford, and with it's finely tuned chip, injectors, and ball bearing turbo, it has the fattest HP curve I've ever seen from a High HP diesel. It was over 500RWHP for 1,500RPM.

Believe me, that's not your run-of-the-mill "chipped" Ford.

Although the Dodge seemed to not be heavily modded, (maybe a COMP and DD 1 or 2's), it's still showing a fair power advantage over the Dodge.

Street racing. . Maybe I'm young,, and I know David is young at heart. it's a thrill to do, and has HUGE consequences. have I done it before? Yes. But, Now, I always make sure we have a huge wideopen area where, even if something catastrophic occured, nobody would be harmed (No racing at warehouses, crowded back roads, residentials, etc)

I think if anybody is to attend Thunder in Muncie, they will see this Ford there. Funny thing is,, this is their tow truck.

That is the truck I blew my motor racing on the freeway.

I had DD5's (~180-200HP) a Drag COMP, PDR HX-40, and a couple other things.

I was pulling a 49' trailer with a Ford Long bed, ext cab, with about 1,500 Lbs of Radio equipment in it (The winner of show-n-shine last year), and they had their race truck on a 35' trailer. We were pulling a ~5-7% grade, and from a roll on from 55MPH, he had me with his faster spooling turbo, but from 5th to 6th,, I started pulling on him. I looked over and saw 40PSI + Boost, and 1600-1700 EGT, but didn't want to back out as I was pulling on this heavily modded Ford with a smaller trailer. 5-6 seconds later I lost compression in one cylinder.

I'd love to see some road course racing... (closed track)

Way to go Merrick... ... if you can't beat em, try untill she blows. LMAO. Reminds me of the stupid things me and my friends did when we were 16. You try at all cost... . losing sucks. :)

Merrick,

You did beat that truck that day even if it wasn't by much at ALL. I know that your tow truck is a little stronger now with all the good parts, and David's tow truck is a little faster now too. That was a year ago, and David has another 100+ hp or so this year. I smell a rematch!! Oo. :D

Andrew

If I can't kick this P1689 code, I won't even be going to Muncie...

I have a head, a cam, beter injectors, and a better turbo with a bigger South Bend Clutch clutch.

I'll rematch him, although I'll have a heavier trailer too. My trailer weighs 7,500Lbs EMPTY. It's like I'll be doing a sled pull all the way there, LOL.

Even though I've thrown alot of parts at my truck, doesn't mean it's that much faster.

Merrick

For about $7500. 00 retail, you too can get 500+ rwhp in an automatic transmission daily driven 7200 pound powerstroke.

I still don't get it:confused:

Hey, I'm all for making diesel power, no matter what brand of motor

;) Why does it matter how much one person spends compared to another? Does that make the person who spent the least better:confused:

7500. 00 in a cummins will get you more than 500 horse that is a daily driver & a little bit more will get you 600 +. Throw in a little nitrous & now your at 700.

Kurt

. Keep throughing money at that power stroke and try to get it to perform like a Cummins and last more than one dyno pull. What my point is you are throughing your money away to try to get that powerjoker to run like a Cummins
