I am wanting to stretch the frame and add another set of doors to my quad cab so I will have 4 full size and the 2 suicide doors. I've seen rigs with this exact thing done going down the road, but damned if I can find out who does it or what it costs! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a company in Elrosa, MN that will do anything you want. I have seen two of their trucks and they look very good. Their name is Bayer Custom Trucks and their number is 320-697-5671.

Thanks alot:( I wish I had never seen those pics. From the looks of it those guys do a great looking job. If only D. C. had went to them first they would see what a real crewcab looks like. And that SUV WOW:--) Wouldn't that be awesome with the Cummins. Oh well, it sure would be nice. Now if I could just find a sick rich uncle.

Those are some sharp looking rigs. Is there anyone else that does it? I always like to comparison shop. I called Bayer, they were going to call me back in 5 minutes over an hour ago. Oh well.

Just talked to them. Uh oh, I feel my wallet getting much lighter:{ Big bucks no Whammies!:eek:

They use original Dodge parts for the doors though so everything looks and almost is factory when they are done. They also install custom fuel tanks, I'm thinkin I oughta be able to get 80 to 100 gallons under that baby. Base price for adding 2 doors in between the original quad cab doors is $11,500 after that the sky's the limit :D

Stopping and talking to them this Thursday Oo.

I wonder what they do to the frame? There'd have to be some serious beefing done to prevent flex and sagging.

The turning radius is gonna got to he!! in a hand basket.

I also wonder what can be done about veh. weight ratings. Adding that much weight would reduce load capacity to nil.

Cool idea though. as cheap/cheaper than converting a crewcab.

I asked them about the frame, they said it is actually stronger between the axles than before. I didn't ask about the weight, with a dually soon to get Ricksons I'm not too worried. I bet it wouldn't add more than 500lbs though, plus another 500lbs or so in fuel with the big tank. Since I'll still be under the tire/axle rating the D. O. T. goes by even with my 11' Bigfoot, I'm not worrying about it.

They said it takes about 40 days to do the stretch though, I don't know if I can be without my baby that long:{

Powder Extreme I too thought of doing this,DC's effert in making a true 4 door sucks. Plus the cost of a new truck and considering how much they wont give a person for their fairly new truck it isnt costing that much more for a true 4 door WITH an extended cab!

I wonder if they would give a break in cost if they were to do two at the same time?:D

Ya know Floor it, that ain't a bad Idea. I wonder if we could get a TDR group discount or something. They said they'd be able to get mine in immediately, slow time of year for them. If we had enough people wanting a REAL 4 door, I bet they would give us a discount.

Anybody else out there thinking of this?

Back in late 98 there was a guy I knew that lived in my home town in TX and he had done this to his duelly. It was the first of the 24v's. total price of truck after buying it and doing the conversion was $63,000:eek: :--) It was a sweet looking truck, I did one of these:--) when I saw it.

Just for fun you guys can check out a 1996 3500 on ebay right now. It was streched in Texas. Reverve at 18500, buy now at 21500.

Just went to their shop, very impressed. They had one truck that was done and another in the process, I'm very impressed with the quality and attention. to detail. Everything looks factory. With any luck they'll be stretching my truck next month.
