I've got a very aggressive fuel leak going. It's @ the top of the filter-header, and appears to come past the aft banjo fitting's lower copper washer.

unbolted (PAIN in the ARSE!) the small banjo fitting and flexed it slightly out of the way, and then repeated for the large one. Long story short, even after 2-3 disassembly/reassemblies, including inverting the washers so as to get fresh copper into banjo fitting contact, it still leaks.

Do those washers stretch over time (OEM from october 97), or do the banjo fittings develop pinholes?

Technically, you should replace them every time you remove them. But if you aren't too picky and are careful, you can get a few reseatings out of them. They're fairly cheap; any diesel shop should have them.

Copper washers "crush washers" are intended for single use only, get new ones. What truck do you have, should give us more info, if its pre-97 you can unbolt the master cyl, not the brake lines, and move it to gain more room to work.

Howdy,Y'all!

Swung by the Diesel shop without the bolt in hand, and the dude gave me several pair of washers that looked close, @ n/c. Will try to fix truck this PM after work. Early 98 12valve
