HAS ANY ONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS TRYING TO REMOVE THE HUB ON THE FRONT AXLE? TRYING TO REPLACE BALL JOINTS BUT CAN'T GET HUB OFF. ANY COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

smacleod, as I stated in my thread about a month ago if you don't want to wreck-replace the bearing follow what I did, if you don't have a torch use a sawsall with a metal cutting blade you might go thru a couple because the steel is hard but once you have the whole axle and hub assembly off a good machine shop will do the rest. Make sure they know whats coming out of what, because if I did not go with the guy who did it he would have ruined the bearing.

Best of luck, Gregg pm me if you need to.

I wrote up a procedure for changing out the seals on the front axle which might give you some insight. Here is a link to it Seal Replacement Procedure . Step 5 is were I'm actually pulling the hub loose. This will not work on the earlier truck as the brake rotor is on the inside of the hub.
