Archived Stuck fuel filter drain valve

I changed my fuel filter this evening. The handle of my drain valve felt "funny" as I opened it but it drained fine after I opened the filter housing. The problem is that it doesn't seal again. It will hold fuel with out pressure but when I bump the starter if flowes right out the drain hose. I can't get it to close. Any one have any suggestions as to how to get it to seal?

Problem solved by removing the drain valve & cleaning it out. I still don't know why it didn't seal but it's sealed now & the truck runs again. =-)

I'm not sure where I read it but the short version was to clean and oil/lube the drain valve everytime you pull it.

mine did the same but i got it to seal again with out taking it apart

i guess i should clean it !!!
