lift pump died on the way down to San Diego. dealer said my mods void my warr and my extended warr also. i'm waiting on the rep from dodge to either stand up and deliver or pull my truck out and replace the pump myself. my engine # is 56722025. i found a pump at a cummins warehouse thats open till midnight. going to pick one up. question? does anyone have the part # from cummins so i know i get the correct one and will i need the new sub harness to go with it?and any other input will be greatly appreciated ken

Cummins part numbers:

3990105 Pump, Transfer

4025182 Connector, Electrical

3963983 Washer, Sealing

You don't need the connector on your model year 2001 (an $8 item). Buy four of the washers. You may not need new ones, but at 50 cents each their cheap insurance, especially if you lose one.

If changing from the top, pull the two bolts holding the fuel filter casting to engine and move filter assembly out of the way.

Good luck!

Thomas, thank you. got your reply as i entered the driveway of the parts house. they looked up the part #'s,per my engine # and they were a match to yours. once again thanks ken

What mod voided your warrenty? Maybe it was the Mag-hytec. That's terrible. Hope it works out.

Ken,

I was just thinking, one of our So Cal Rattlin' Ram member works at Cal Pacific in El Cajon. He may be able to help with a Cummins warranty for the pump.

Cary

cap-n-cray ,thanks for the offer. i have a well supplied tool box with me. if i run into a problem i'll give you a call. replacing the pump looks simple. just getting a 6-2 body in there that will be fun. i got my parts from miramar trucks and talked to a very nice tech there and he gave the same advise on how to do it that i have read here. parts only 140. 00 out the door. nice time to install my new banjo bolts to huh! ken

fixed and on my way. the dealer rep decided that there have been seveal failures and covered it under my extended warr. thanks to all. i'll keep the other one as a spare in my tool box. ken
