I have to say I like the look. Do you have any Idea how many hours they are rated for? I'm assuming the life of the truck, but you never know if they have a specific rating.

Away from the literature right now, but I think 30,000 hrs for low beam and 10,000 hrs for high beam.

Mike.

Thanks for sharing Mike I'm emailing my brother these pics . He designed the circuit for one of the first LED flashlights and he said to me someday they will be car headlights.

Have you had a chance to try them out? Do you think they put more light farther down the road?

I wish Mopar would make a direct replacement for my '05.

Seth and I were going to try them last night but the overwhelming desire to head for home won out over unlocking the sales department and searching up the keys.
We will give them a try next week... ...

These headlights are designed and manufactured by Truck Lite.

They can be fitted to existing Cascadias as well. Cost is app. 750. 00 per light.

They do have a replaceable circuit board if there is a failure.

Mike.

I looked at the Truck-Lite web site. They are making replacement LED lights for the 7" round and 5x7 halogen lights. I wonder what it would take to make LED for the '05 trucks that look just like the original lights?

Mike, I wonder if there will be a problem with snow building up on those headlamps. The LED's won't heat up like the halogens.

LED not HID

I got tired of waiting, I ordered a set of these:

Guaranteed for life, can send them back if they don't satisfy me after trying. Not likely to be DOT though, and they will go back if they look like those cheap *** HID drop in blinding kits the Honda boys run. Really wish there was a complete housing LED for 3rd Gens. Considered making a retrofit with JW speakers, or Prius or Lexus ones, but I'm lazy like that. The technology is here, Lexus and Toyota have executed the LED headlights beautifully. I wish the Detroit would catch up.

Marty - I meant to mention I do have the TruckLite 7" roundys on my Jeep, 2000 Wrangler, and in an older Landcruiser. They are ok but not a significant improvement over halogens. Definitely have 'hot spots' but not annoyingly so. I still use the factory halogen fogs as the more yellowish / less white than LED, light 'color' seems to balance out where the TruckLites don't illuminate. They were pricey at $500 a pair. If I was to do it over I might have sprung a little more for the latest model JW speakers, based solely on reviews and evaluations I've read. Sorry for being a little off topic here.

I have an '02 Wrangler and noticed the round LED on the Trucklite site. I briefly thought that would be a good future upgrade for my Jeep, but at $500 a pair I thought that was a bit pricey, especially when I think my stock Jeep lights are better than my 05' Dodge lights. I'm glad you shared your thoughts on them.

Thanks.

Almost anything is better than the stock headlights. I just installed a pair of Silver Star Ultra's in my signature truck, but haven't had a chance to drive it at night yet. If they are anywhere near as good as the Bosch H4 halogens in my old Mercedes, I'll be very happy with that.

Any updates for us?

Yea, they flickered on low beam, no load made the CANBUS non compatible. They sucked just like HID's in Halogen housings, I was disappointed. They did say they were working on a resistor to defeat the CANBUS flicker issue, but I decided the light output on low beam was scattered and blinding, for the few seconds it wasn't strobing, output was hardly useful and directed. Hi beam was a compete joke, but I did drive through my neighborhood with them on hi beam for a test. Not an upgrade for our housings at this point. I gave them every chance and wanted them to work for me. They just aren't putting light where it's needed.
I hope this pic comes through, LED on right, halogen on left:
