Archived stumble and check engine light

a month ago I had the dealer put in my SB clutch and program the high idle feature

imediately after picking up the vehicle I noticed a stumble at about 50 to 60 mph at a very slight acceleration

The high idle did not work either

Then I found out that the tech re flashed my computer when all he had to do was turn the feature on

Now I get codes 0500 and 0253

(0500 - no vehicle speed signal)

(0253 - fuel pump fuel valve open signal)

since then I have removed the DD ufm and am running stock except for the exhaust, scotty II, and clutch

Stumble is still there just not as noticeable

Haven't seen another check engine light since taking off the ufm

This pickup ran beautiful for 6 months with all this stuff on it and now runs like crap

I dont believe its the clutch because of the check lights

I have been pushing the dealer for a new computer but they claim dodge wont even sell them one without running a bunch of tests

I called cummins yesterday and basically waisted my time



Is it possible that the tech caused this problem or is something else wrong and its just coincedence that it showed up the same time I had the work done ???:{

engine stumble

When you say engine stumble sorrrrrry what does it do???? Does it not have any power or does it seam as if someone has turned the fuel off on one or two cylinders, this is what is suspect ? For what little I know as of yet it is some thing that the tech did for it started after they did some thing to it!!!!!!!!This you will have to STRESSSSS to them. What RPM is this happening at, is it multiples of 6? For this is where I am getting mine! Is this the first time that they (tech) has been into the ECM? Could this be a viress? Please check for me if you have any slight grades in your area say 20' in 500 yds if it bucks down grade you may have to practice a few times to be very light footed . Don't know the enhanced fuel system but it amplifies the problem???? How was the HP before the problem? Have the tech check the wireing harness for lose connectors or pins. All of these will make for bad conections. If I can be of any -- email address removed --

power is good (hasnt changed)

just when on a slight acceleration (under 17 psi boost)

it seems like it doesnt want to make up its mind whether to accelerate or not ( jerking)

the ufm does amplify the problem but still there without ufm hooked up



truck is at the dealer right now

dodge is making them run a bunch of "tests"

the code 0500 is still showing in the scan tool but no check engine light this time



Techs words -- "We cant find anything wrong with it but it keeps showing the code 0500 which is not supposed to show in a diesel truck"



0500 has something to do with a speed sensor and my speedo has never quit working



I keep telling them they screwed up something in the program when they reflashed but they just dont get it

Id like to reflash the tech



I dont know if this reflash he did effects the pcm or ecm or both and if it can be flashed correctly to fix or if I need a new one
