Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) stumble at hiway speed

I just developed a slight stumble at around 55mph give or take a few mph. I don't have any codes and all gauges are showing no problems. Can the apps be the cause and not show a code? Thanks

Yes. The test is to find a buddy with a 24v 5spd like yours that does not have the stumble and swap his APPS for yours to see if the stumble disappears. Much cheaper than buying a new test as the test piece.

If you decide to swap one from a buddy swap the APPS and the aluminum mount, no need to disassemble those two pieces.

sounds like the very same symptons mine had, swapped the APPS with a known working one and BAM, problem solved. Only problem is, they're not cheap, up in the $270 range. put my old one back in and 2 weeks later dead pedal and check engine light after long run on cruise control, kind of scary, shut the truck off, waited a few seconds and it worked again enough to get me home.

Stumble is usually caused by the APPS. Dead pedal is typically the VP44 wanting to go out to lunch.

yeah I know, but the dead pedal came along with the correct code for the apps.

You don't have anything in your signature. You have your information in your truck profile - the signature shows up on posts (and is limited in length), the truck profile doesn't (and isn't limited in length).

it sounds to me that you need to reset your apps, some times it does not make good contact internally and resetting it will help . in 6 yrs mine needed to be reset 3 times and every time it torned out ok
