Sorry, this is a pretty low tech question, and searching didn't produce anything, so here goes:

I've been driving cars and trucks for over 50 years and have always hung clothes on the driver's side next to the window. I won't even hang clothes on the passenger side because it blocks my view. What's up with my Ram having the clothes hooks on the rear of the cab where it blocks the view out of the rear view mirror? Is there an aftermarket hook that can be placed over the rear windows or any other solution?

Thanks,

Al

My guess it has to do with the side curtain airbags. Even my 2003 the hangers are located above the back window. Haven't seen anything aftermarket that will work. I hang my stuff from the front seat headrest. LOL

I did exactly that last weekend. I think you are right. My truck has the side curtain airbags front and rear. They must come down from the overhead at the door. If there was anything hanging there they might rip.

I guess I'll have to plan to put them in bags in the bed.

Will when you tow a trailer or 5er you do not use the rear view mirror at all; except to hook up. So I have gotten use to not using the center rear view mirror, just the two outside mirrors. So when I hang clothes up behind me on the driver side I did not even notice this issue. Now I will have to look next time and see if this is a problem or not.

Yeah, not a problem when towing, but when not towing it is a significant obstruction.
