I would like some feedback on you guys that run K&N's

I know, I know! this is run into the ground, but I had to ask.

because I will probably get one this week. Thanks for any help

This forum is great!! I love my 1st Gen!!

I have had my K&N on for 25,000 miles with a cover on it.

I have not cleaned it and the turbo is clean and oil free.

Good Luck

Cliff

When I put the new turbo housing on last weekend, I checked the rubber tube from the filter to the turbo. No dust or oil inside. My K&N is in the stock housing. I'm happy with it so far.

I have run a K&N for over 125,000 miles and have never found dust or oil in my intake system. In fact I've got 2 so that I can properly clean, dry and oil one while I continue to use the other. I also do an oil analysis at each change. My last analysis is as good as my first one. I have also "swiss cheesed" tha air box. :D

Happy trails:)

K&N cover??

Hey Oasis, what kind of cover do you have on your K&N?

Are you talking about the stock filter housing or are you talking about a prefilter? and, did you get it from K&N, about how much did it cost?? Thanks fellas

Bob, I'm curious, what does it cost to have an oil sample analyzed? Thanks, John

Thanks alot, Cliff. That sure is one nice truck! My filter is the E-1023 for the 1st Gen, I just ordered it at the auto parts store

this afternoon. should be here tommorrow about 3:30. I can't

wait to get it on my truck! I'm going to see if they have a filter

cover for mine too.

It seems that everyone has had good luck with the K&N but me, and only a few other people. I am just letting you know that it is possible, even when servicing the filter properly, to get dust in the intake. I don't know how or why, but it apparently does happen. I am not trying to steer you away from it, merely informing. Best of luck.

The cost for an oil sample is usually $10-$15. I get mine done thru the oil company I get the oil from(Royal Purple) and it is $10 for the sample and the kit plus shipping cost. I don't remember what the postage was last time, I think around $3
