Just got done working my fourth year as an EMT at the Sturgis Rally. Estimates are there were close to 500,000 bikers in western South Dakota last week. 8 fatalities recorded the last one being my patient on saturday afternoon, and seven more still in critical condition at the big hospital in Rapid City. Still blows my mind, just how many people come out for this thing. There were a ton of Dodge diesels running around. Dodge had a display in sturgis with the new trucks as well, they are ok but I still like mine better. Like I said earlier, four years of this, had at least one dead patient every year. Could be worse I suppose, gotta figure the actual population of our entire state is only 750,000 and more than 2/3 live on the eastern half, so you go and throw an extra 500,000 at us and I think we handle it pretty well. If you have never seen it it is really something I cannot describe. Anyway, y'all have a good day and be safe. Jon
