Hello, was considering putting my 84 suburban body on a recently wrecked 93 regular cab 4x4. Both are auto's, was looking for the right donor to do a cummins converion with, and this truck came my way. Anybody ever tackle a project like this ? I think it would be easier to just rebody rather than swap entire drive train, axles and all.

Thanks for any input

Mike

I like the way you think. Ive been wanting to do the exact same thing to my brothers 64' Chevy C-10. There are a number of guys in the conversions forum that have done swaps with suburbans, but it seems more popular to just swap engine/drivetrain. Im sure you can find much more helpfull information over there. Good luck with it and keep us updated.

There was a thread on here a while ago (or maybe in an earlier issue) that had pics of a guy puting a 50s truck body on a 3rd gen frame/chassis. To me that seems like an ideal way to go because you get the benefits of the newer suspension, brakes, etc.
