I'll answere my own first. No it was not a sucess, so here we go again. I am now doing my own oil changes, is ther a syn-oil that is recomended for a 5. 9 12v with 91K, what is a cross over number from DC (mopar) to Fram oil filter? Has any body ever considered using a class 8 turbo, if so what do I need to consider?

Thanks for the come-back Mike and John. Its good to be able to use the TDR. I am a retread ol trucker (just turned 55 in Oct). I bought my 3500 used and I will never give it up. My SYL (special young lady) and I fight all the time who gets to drive.

bikebum: Congrats on joining the TDR gang and the 96. Just curious as why the desire for going to the class 8. Once ya get the "Bombing" urge these 5. 9's can put down some real hp and torque as you can see from other post and my sig. There is a cure for the special one but it usually means a bigger drive and and expansion onto the garage. Have a good day and good luck.

First of all welcome to the TDR. You will definately learn a few things here.
About the oil filter thing, Just about everyone I've talked to on this site would not recommmend using the Fram filter in our trucks. Most tend to prefer the Fleetguard filters that you can find at any Cummins authorized locations.

I found my Fleetguards at a tractor store in Alvin, Texas for SIX BUCKS AND CHANGE!! My last WIX was about ten from OReilly.

Bikebum, **** ya you can put a class 8 turbo on that truck. If you can spin it, slap it on! I'm not sure how streetable that would be, but there are guys/gals our there using the larger turbos to pull with. Call Dave Mitchell or e-mail him and discuss your application.
