Had this problem come up where motor suddenly has no power when I press on the throttle and then it will kick in and run fine. Sometimes it may happen for a little while after start up and then its fine all day. Recently however it has been happening more frequently where I may be coasting (no throttle) down a mountain and then when I press on the pedal it may miss again kick in and be fine again as long as I maintain some throttle.
Truck is 2003 250 HP 5 speed with Smarty Jr set on towing. I've checked for codes and have none. Truck runs very strong otherwise.
Could this be the throttle position sensor?

By the way I do have a fuel pressure gauge showing pressure around 7 psi constantly. I've changed out the fuel filter as well and have always maintained the truck with new fuel filters every other oil change (15k miles) and usually run Amalgamated fuel treatment in the tank.

APPS is on the engine. I'll get one ordered and install. Little unsure of exactly how to adjust it. Looks like I put it on on without tightening, tap the yellow wire with meter, other side to battery negative, turn ignition to on and rotate the sensor to match required voltage, then tighten it down. Hope that is correct. Let me know if not.
Thanks for helping out!

Take the WELLS one from Autozone, that's the most sophisticated. It works contact less and therefore does not wear out like all others. I've great results with mine, and peace of mind from the lifetime warranty backing it.

I did a lot of research before I've chosen this unit.

It comes with an easy to understand install manual.
