I replaced my power steering pump a week ago. Drove for 100 miles or so over the past week, and on the way home the power steering went away. No noise, plenty of fluid, no foam. It steering acts just like steering under no engine power. I'll check out the check valve in the pump. Any other ideas?

And the answer is: Pulled vacuum pump and power steering pump off as a unit. btw, this was much easier that just removing the ps pump. I found the check valve stuck, so I did not look any farther. Pump was returned, new pump installed and all is well. I did add an external filter to the return side hose.
