When I picked my truck up a few weeks ago the WIF light was lit. I drained and drained and came to the conclusion that the sensor was bad or the filter was bad.
The other day I was going to change out the filter. When I unplugged the WIF sensor wire, I noticed one of the wires had been pulled completely out of the unit. Well, that would explain it.
So I hit up my local Dodge parts store and purchase a new sensor with wires. I get back in the truck, and suddenly, NO MORE WIF?
This light has been on for over 1000 miles now and suddenly it stops? My first though was the bulb burned out, but when you place the ignition in the pre-start position, it lights up along with the 'wait to start' and 'transmission temp' lights.
So--what gives? Anyone have a clue on what would make a WIF sensor with one wire missing suddenly stop reporting water?
