HI,

I was wondering if any of you have tried "Sulfa Tabs" by King Petrochem?... . I saw these bottles at a local truck store / repair facility... . They look like little

capsules filled with I guess sulfur... . Instructions call for 1 tablet for every 25

gallons of diesel fuel... Bottle of 180 tablets sells for $49. 95... . Seems interesting just wondering if anybody has tried these and what your results were.

Thanks

Andrew

Sulfa is a drug

BE CAREFUL... "Sulfa" is a type of anitbiotic. it is a class of drugs like Septra DS and Bactram. i would suspect that the pills you refer to are for something other than human ingestion, however sounds like the packaging is a bit decieving.

It is not the sulfur that adds lubricity to fuel. I thought it was the PROCESS by which they are removing the sulfur is also impacting the lubricity of the fuel. Adding sufur back in won't add lubricity. If you want lubricity, dump a quart of 2 stroke oil in your tank.

These tabs sound like a money making scheme that won't do anything for you. Snake oil.

Sulfur = bad. The problem is that the additional refining required to reduce sulfur content to 15 PPM for ULSD also removes more of the aromatic constituents in the fuel - these aromatics provide lubricity, seal swelling and elasticity, etc. So adding raw sulfur back into the fuel isn't going to help anything. If your concern is purely lubricity, ashless 2-cycle oil would be better to add to the fuel.

Sounds like another "fast buck" item served up for the gullible and ignorant - fortunately, my fuel line magnets would probably catch any bad stuff they might put into my fuel... :-laf

Rusty has it right! ;)

Would it be ok to put a quart of motor oil in the gas tank for lubrication. Dyno not synthetic. Just wondering.

Most of us choosing to add stuff to our fuel for lubricity either use one of the commercial additives made for that purpose, or use a good ashless 2-stroke oil that is refined to be burned in the combustion chamber.

For winter use, I'm currently using a quart of Power Service Fuel Supplement for the anti-gelling, mixed with a quart of Pennzoil Synthetic Blend 2-stroke oil per tank of fuel - for summer use, I'll switch from the Fuel Supplement to the Diesel Kleen for better lubricity, but will also still use the 2-stroke oil.
