P0243 Generic Turbo/Super Charger Wastegate Solenoid A

Does not seem to be a likely combo. Maybe electrical/wiring glitch. If the truck is running ok I would guess the CEL will go off. The infamous P0633 will probably be there until you sell the truck and does not mean much.

Can't really help more than that.

Might mean that the previous owner had a downloader in it at some point...

I never had any codes until I installed my downloader, then P0633.

The thing that irked me was that one of the main reasons for me buying the Triple Dog is that they told me they fixed this code.

My thinking is that if the SKIM code is not in the ECM, then you'll be able to start the truck with a black key. I have not tried it yet, but I may get around to it in a week or two.

The first time I checked for codes truck was three months old and no boxes or downloaders. I had the P0633 code. Never had a problem starting that I knew of. I went to the dealer to find out what it meant. Tech said it is a stored code that means that at some time at least once there was a communication problem between the Key and the ECM. He said this could be caused be any number of things, some of which really have nothing to do with a truck problem. He told me not to worry, that it is just stored in the ECM and would be a reference if any further or real problems occurred with the SKIM Key. He told me that the way the code is stored, it can only be cleared or removed by clearing all stored data from the ECM. He recommended not doing that and was not even sure he could. That code has been on mine ever since and it could have been there when I picked up the truck for all I know. So I just ignore it.

Thanks Guys,

Don't have a way to read codes other than on the dash (no OBDII Reader) so took it down to the local autozone for a free code check and clear... ... ... we plugged the reader in, and NO codes came up, although still showed when I checked. So the dealer I bought it at is open till 7pm, and the service department is also open till 7, so talked to the service manager, they hooked me up. Plugged in there box and found the codes. Although none were active. The CEL will clear after I tink 7 starts if the code that lit it is no longer present. The tech cleared all 3 codes for me, free of charge and we'll see what happens... ... ... Thanks for your replies and help. It's nice to be able to talk to folks like you.

P0633 is the Skim key not programmed code and can be caused by a ECU programming session. When finished programming it is required to have the keys exchange run. This can be done with the DRB for the 2005 and earlier, and the Starscan with the 2006. The dealer will punch in a PIN number that allows the key exchange to occur.
