Please tell me how to use the dye test in the dash to check the evaporator and expansion valve. Reason I ask is I have seen these dye test used under the hood but not inside the cab.
Thanks Tim

Very little dye is injected into the system after it has been charged with refrigerant. After the system has been run or runs out,the dye leakage is checked using an altraviolet light and glasses. The only easy way to check for leakage at the evaporator, short of dismantling the dash is to check the drain where the condensation runs out. The dye will show up inside that tube. All the other connections and components are easily seen.

Good luck guys.

It might be the evaporator core that is leaking. It is inside cab behind glove compartment.

Hey guys, Anybody out there have a problem holding a charge on their AC? I got a "96" that starting acting up last fall. It'll hold a charge for about a day, Put 2 cans of dye through and checked all connections and found nothing, Are there any known weak links in the dodge system that you have run into ??? I really don't feel like getting bent over at the dealer.
Thanks in advance !!
