So what's the summer of '06 going to bring? Will it be a scorcher? More hurricanes? Tornadoes? Will the NE dry out?

Summer already showed up in the NW. Been 95 or better all week and right at 100 the last 2 days in some areas of Eastern Washington.

Another above average hurricane season. I got this straight from Dr. Grey while he spoke at the Florida Governer's Hurricane Conference. We are planning on evacuating the base at least once this year.

I'm willing to bet..... that the Southwest will be hot, the Gulf and East coasts will get a hurricane or two, the Midwest will get tornadoes, and it will rain in the Northwest... . and the TV news folks will make NEWS out of it!

Tonight's forcast: Darkness decreasing by morning.

I predict our weather this summer will be hot with little rain.

For us on the Gulf Coast, the forecast is for more hurricanes and tropical storms than normal, but not as many as last year. We'll see, I guess.....

I usually wait until tomorrow to see what happened today. In the winter around here, the weather report can be hit or miss. Sometimes they can't even get what did happen yesterday right! Summer is easier. Hot with chance of t-storms in the afternoons with gusty high winds around the cells. I think it will be hotter than average, but not much.

Hey Vaughn whats the old saying? "Only a fool or a newcommer would pedict the weather. "

Meteorolgist = the only job that pays you for being wrong a good percentage of the time.

What about baseball player? Where you can fail 66% of the time at the plate and still make millions of dollars!

Yea but if a baseball player fails he gets traded or sent back to the minors.

I've started suckering a couple of the guys I work with by betting on the weather forecast. These guys will look at the "forecast" for 5, 7, or even 10 days in the future and think that's what the weather is going to be. So I bet them that it won't be that way. I'm about to take them for another $5.

Funny thing is, they still believe those long-term forecasts.

As far as I'm concerned, meterologists are just as clueless as Joe Average beyond a 24 hour period.
