Anyone out there ever had any dealings with Suncoastconvertors, Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. They deal in Pro-Loc products. I want to have a good torque convertor installed but not many people up to speed on the latest products here. I live near Macon, Ga. Any help would be appreciated. 95 Dodge, Banks fuelplate and boost elbow

If you want the best get hold of Bill K. at Diesel Transmission Technology. I have one in my truck. Now the power gets to the ground going up thru the gears instead of just making a lot of noise.

I rode in a Ram with a Suncoast Pro-Loc TC in it lately... what a joke when compared to the DTT 93% TC in my Ram! They may have a low stall however, it seems like it takes forever to transfer power to the ground. Why? They actually reduced the efficiency of their TC by milling the OEM stator to achieve reduced stall. Kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul. #ad
Like Bill has said before, the DTT TCs transfer 40% more power to the ground than anyone else... it sure seems that way to me.

Don't take my word for it, every Rammer with a DTT TC and VB on this BB can't be wrong. In addition, there are many of us that had upgraded transmissions (BD, Suncoast, Dunrite, Pro-Torque, Trans-Go etc. ) that decided to go to DTT as they clearly have a superior product line.

One thing you might not notice with a DTT TC is that TCC lockup is NOT a dramatic event like it is with a stock TC. There is not as much RPM change since the TC is so efficient before lockup occurs. Love the 2nd gear lockup for brakeing while towing. DTT is the only way to go! #ad

Tmarti,

Last fall I lost my trannie in Boozeman, MT. At the time I had 93,000 miles. I was concerned about loosing my trannie before I left on the trip. I asked around and was told a Pro-Loc TC from Sun Coast was the way to go. I called them and they shipped it right up to Boozeman. When my tannie man asked me why I ordered that particular TC I told him his question would be answered when it arrived. And it was, it weighed about twice as much as a normal TC. In fact, after I broke down, one of the places I went when deciding who I wanted to do the work was the Bozeman Dodge dealership. The service manager told me what a great job they did rebuilding trannies. Turns out they used Pro-Loc TC! Didn't know dealerships did such things. Problem was they charged an arm and leg for the job, about $2,000 more than what Bozeman Transmission would charge for the same job.

Truck pulled much better after the replacement. No more slipping. I do notice when auto shifts from 2nd to 3rd it's a hard shift. This problem is caused by the trannie not the TC. When I picked up the truck it had this problem. The trannie man told me this would work itself out. I had been in Bozeman for 3 weeks and just wanted to get home. Instead of having the trannie man get it right, I went home. My fault.

Also notice when I'm pulling up a grade and in third gear the trannie is loud, much louder than it used to be. Do not know why.

When I bought the Pro-Loc I did not know of Bill at DTT. Lots of folks on this board like him a lot. Can't go wrong with their advice.

I liked working with the Sun Coast folks. They know their stuff and were a big help, even from 2,000 miles away.

Hope this helps.

Bill Kondalay is the man. I had Jannetty Racing install my DTT torque converter and valve body. He was interested in Bill's products. Bill called me out of the blue to see how the install went and if everything was satisfactory. The funny thing was I got a bunch of phone calls from them pesky telephone solicitors prior to his call. I guess I was a little surly when I answered his call. He asked me if I always answered my phone that way. I felt terrible. I ended up calling him the next day to apologize again. I didn't want to get stereotyped as one of those rude New Yorkers. His customer service is amazing, and so are his products. Ted Jannetty's work and customer service are awsome, and truly a nice guy as well. Anybody in the Tri-state area who needs some Diesel Performance tuning, definitely take a ride to Waterbury Ct. You won't be disappointed. -Glen Pratt
