My sunglass holder thingamajig in my overhead console broke. The little close tab snapped off. Any ideas what I can do with it now? Maybe use it as switch center, or maybe a couple low use guages? How deep are guages? Obviously they would not be in the line of sight but could be good for maybe an air guage such.

Let me hear your ideas!!!

My sunglass holder broke also. Never could figure out what to do or how to bomb it. So I just went and bought a new one.

I don't even put glass' in it now. I would rather it not break again. It was over $15 for the little door. It's also a PITA to change out. After you do it once, it's a breeze. It's just figuring it out the first time. I remeber having to use a very small screw driver.

I wish it wasn't so baron looking (Altho anything can be prettied up) That would be a slick area for a radar detector , XM reciever thingy , even a comp hangout. If you have a Tweeter ETC hangin' round they can fab up that velvety felt feelin molded plastic in house. Have a compartment fabbed and there ya go.

Mine has broken twice. The dear replaced it both times. The first time the tech put a big tear in the foam inside of the top. At first I thought hey it is just a truck. But I thought ever time I get my sunglasses out I will see the tear and be p***** off . I went back to the dealer and they replaced the whole top console. Just had the second one replaced. I am now waiting for it to break.

I really have no use for that holder. How do you take it off. I would like to mount my little lite weight Uniden cb radio up there.

Any body have a suggestion on how I could secure it? What holds that cheap little plastic sunglass/garage door remote holder up there?

Anyone want to see the new bumper I installed today you can find it on my post on www.nwbombers.com under slip slidding away.

I went through two as well. On the third one I put a little self adhesive rubber disk ( hardware store item ) to keep the latching tab from flexing too far, moves just enough to allow the door to open. No more problems. Over flexing the plastic hinge was causing it to break. Use it constantly now.
