Notching a 4BT pan?

Hey, I know there are a few ppl on here that have done a cummins swap into there superdutys. I'm looking for the wiring info. I've searched and found comments like "it's not tough to do" or "there's only 6 wires to hook up" but I can't find the actual usable info! My truck is a 1999 F450. Any info would be great!

Thanks

Then there's ppl that say "kory, call us on monday" and thats the end of it for the rest of us. I'm glad that Autoworld is here... ... ... ... ... ..... but alot of these posts stop with... . dawna :) saying call us. Which leaves this page with alot of holes and alot of people wondering. . WTF. Whatever is said needs to be placed here without giving up ALL of Autoworlds secrects obviously. Soo to keep this page a builders page with the help of Autoworld please keep the discusion OPEN!

Thanks.

It depends on whether your truck was a gas or diesel truck to start with. If it was gas then your cruise servo is still there. If it was diesel then you need to simply get the cruise servo from a gas truck and hook it up. the wires that will control the servo are hooked up to the PCM in the drivers side fenderwell. you need the 2 wires that came from the cruise buttons on the wheel and the vss+ wire from the PCM. Battery hot, key on hot, brake input, clutch input, ground and cruise indicator light going to the dash. all these are found on the PCM and can then be hooked up to the Cruise servo. This also depends on the year of cummins. if you have a 04. 5 or newer cummins you have a fly by wire setup and there is no manual cable. but an older cummins you should have used the cable setup and you can piggy back the gas servo with the cable throttle.

I am running all Ford cruise components stripped out of a later truck. I made a bracket to attach the servo to the bellcrank on the pump.

I don't see why you cannot do the same using gasser components.

we have talked to kory several times and he got our mounts. some things i don't know all the answers to and he needs to talk to rolland, he's only there during the day!

if i know the answers, i will tell you all.

Good info here!!! how about on a GM though... Autoworld... how do you guys do it? Mine is a 99 GM... had a 6. 5 in it.

thats easy, go to the salvage yard and get the gas version servo if the cummins uses a manual cable, u didn't say what yr cummins you are using - basic same instructions as roger gave above on the ford, i will have to ask rolland for any wiring variation for the chevy - can't do that til tomorrow, @ home right now. if its a new common rail?totally different scenerio... dawna

It is a 96 12valve. My cab is a 99 (Oldstyle of course) which had a 6. 5. If I were to get the servo and the wiring I would asume that there would be a conection that I can hook this all up to on the 6. 5computer? any insite on this would be great... its one of the next things I need to get ready.

Thanks... Ryan

Bump

I am bumping this thread looking for the same info Ryan just asked. I am going to buy a throttle body, kick down, and Cruise control servo tommorow out of an old Chevy truck. I am also wondering how the wiring from the new servo to my 6. 5 wiring is going to work. Will it be straight forward? I am sure more people will be wondering.

93 Chevy Cummins Cruise

FYI - on my 93 Chevy conversion, which was MFI 6. 5L, it was lay the cruise actuator cable back, fabricate bracket and install with throttle cable I had also laid back. Until I read this posting, I had not considered issues with drive-by-wire throttle setups.

Good read - great to know if I convert another. Which I will.
