How come the pickup manufactures haven't went to a super single to add carrying capacity and stability like the big rigs are now doing????? Some of the reasons I can guess - but it seems like a great way to go EXCEPT that now you'd have a problem for a spare - I mean 2 different sizes etc.....

I'd love to see that happen. I have kicked around the idea of ditching the dually adapters up front & going to an 8-10" front with a 12-14" rear. Hard to find tires that are the same height with the really wide rear tire.

mostly it is done for weight. A single weighs about a third of a set of duals. Most of the guys that i know that are running them hate it when they get a flat they are down till they get it changed but with duals they can keep going. less weight means more load =$$.
