Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Superchip or Edge

Well its time to wake up my truck but I am a little lost with all the talk of Edge or other suppliers (superchips) ect. I have been thinking superchips, anyone with alittle more knowledge on which one to use would be great to hear pros and cons

For an easy first BOMB I'd say it's hard to go wrong with a used EZ from the classifieds on this site. It'll give you a much better kick than a Superchip.

I will look in to a edge EZ Today. Sounds like 100% for edge. Any one out there have any luck with a Superchips, or comments on one.

Have the EDGE... well worth the money and nary a problem.

Have an Edge Comp. Worth the extra money. I would get the Comp as opposed to the EZ. This is because the Comp has extra power potential but can still be run like an EZ if the pump wire is not pierced. For an even better combo, look at a Comp with a "special" CATCHER.

Now there's another whole ball of wax! If you are ready to spend $500. The CaTCHER is perhaps the best way to go as a stand alone BOMB. Oo. Bigger sticks are the better way to more power with the MAD CaTCHER. Tapping the wire works too, but all that is a ways down the slippery slope. :-laf

Yeah. Bob Wagner has them and is happy to assist. He even helped me get a "special" CATCHER in place of my regular CATCHER when I went to the Comp.

The slope is slippery indeed. Well on my way down it.



Darkhorse is right about the CATCHER alone. I had it without any other mods (save exhaust and intake) for a while and compared to a stock it was like a whole other truck. The responsiveness is unbelievable.

Do not like it i keep throwing codes and after you take it off it takes the codes with it cant get anything done with no codes no warranty .

I have a superchip and notice little to NO improvement in power.

I now use the Edge Drag comp.



If you still need a superchip hand held programer I will sell mine to ya.

But for mild hp gain I would go with the edge ez.
