I JUST INSTALLED A SUPERCHIPS D-BOX ON A BUDDIES 2001 CTD WITH A FIVE SPEED transmission AND INSTALLED THE BOOST ELBOW THAT COME WITH THE KIT AND IT SEEMS TO RUN REALLY GOOD, BUT WHEN HE HOOKS UP TO HIS LIVESTOCK TRAILER I HAVE NEVER SEEN A 24 VALVE SMOKE THIS MUCH, HIS FENDER IS COAL BLACK AND THE SIDE OF HIS TRAILER IS BLACK ALSO. THE TRUCK IS STOCK OTHER THAN A K+N AIR FILTER. WHAT SHOULD I CHECK? IT MAKES ME THINK HE IS NOT GETTING FULL BOOST PRESSURE. WITH THE ELBOW INSTALLED SUPERCHIP SAYS IT SHOULD GET TO 28 PSI. WHERE DO I TAP IN TO GET A BOOST READING? SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.

D-Box

nfox look and see what the box is set on the instruction that came with mine said it was set to max from the factory you can adjust it for less smoke by moving the jumper, seems to me that the boost elbow would cause the engine to only make more boost and would not cause the smoke. Is his a 4300? Hope this helps Harv

You can drill and tap the inlet, for the boost or theres a plug on the side of the engine near the map you can take out to test to boost. You also are able to tee into the line @ the loc. of the elbow. Harv

He needs to roll into the throttle as the boost comes up, he is drilling the throttle at low/no boost. Even with BIG injectors they will not smoke bad if driven properly. You could also set the jumpers to the less aggressive positions if he is set on the way he drives.
