Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) superchips settings???

I have about 110000 mi. on my 02' and just installed a superchips max tuner. It says on the box not to pull anthing with it on the highest setting which is only 70 hp. I pull 10000-25000 lbs. every day and I was wondering what the big deal is about 70 hp. because most of the guys that I haul with have 80-100 hp. chips, injectors, or both with no problems. any opinions would help. I have run the chip and when i was towing i threw codes or after i took the load off it would still throw a code after a few miles after that no problems for a regular drive I took the hole thing off for fear i was getting ready for vp44 or lp all codes i threw were fuel related i have had no problems since i took the chip off.

Hay i did call superships and talked to there chip expert and he told me that if i were throwing codes at that time i had fuelling problems. fix the truck and the chip would work fine lots of help with the supership guys.

I believe you can run the SuperChip on the highest setting if you keep your exhaust temps below 1250 degrees.

Run it on High as long as you have a EGT gauge Oo. Oo.



If no gauge Get one :-laf

the only things to watch are egt's and trans. i tow on the highest setting. my egt's never pass 1000 degrees. the trans is probably the biggest worry. with a little work there is nothing to worry about.

on edit: i didnt read your sig at first. with a manual, the clutch is probably the weakest link. but if it doesnt slip there is nothing to worry about.

Stock clutch is good for a superchips as long as there has been no abuse.



I run my comp on 3X5 all the time with a stock clutch, ruffly about 70hp. I can run thru my clutch if I get STUPID and over torque it, going 50mph in 5th with 3psi Boost and hammer it WOT. :-laf :-laf :-laf

I see a clutch, centermatics, Bilstein, Smarty, AFE and Sticks. Not necessarily in that order
