sct

i have one, i cant say i hate it because i have never rode in another td with a different programmer, but i can say i personally didnt feel much difference between it and stock. mileage remained the same at about 19. what else are you looking for? i wish i would have bought an edge just from all of the great feedback they have on this site.

i had one for about 9 months, increase in power and smoke was noticable but i replaced it with an edge EZ and i like the EZ alot better

i work at a ford dealer and the powerjokes respond very well to them. especially the 6. 0. that is why i bought mine only to be sadly dissapointed in it.

Sct

I bought my Superchips tuner in April of this year... . I liked the performance... especially the two upper settings. But I also have the EdgeEZ... much better gain in performance. I have them both sitting here in my office... . the Superchips I can't use now since I had my ecm re-flashed with the TSB 18-019-01... . have to pay them the $150 to clear the tuner... ... . the Edge I used about 6 weeks and my vp44 went south. Going to wait until I get bigger injectors before I put that back on. The edge is awesome though..... from idle to WOT. Hope this helps.

... I have the SCT on my 98. 5 3500 4x4, & it ain't worth the $$ - IMO. . If it hadn't come with my truck, I would have been VERY upset spending more than $50 on it. . I had a 2000 F250 PSD & with the Hypertech programmer 60 HP setting - sad to say - it would've absolutely whooped my ISB in an ugly way... Guess it's time for an Edge. ?

Probably need to secure a spare VP44 first, eh. . ?? :-laf

What about a sct and an edge togethor??

Can you use the sct as well as an edge at the same time, i would think you could beings the sct reprograms the ecm while the edge sends false readings to the ecm, possible or not??? If it is, you would get some serious hp!!!

Positive experience here

Reading previous posts on the TDR I've seen more negative responses then positive regarding the Super Chip Tuner. About 3 weeks ago I was at a friends shop: www.noblehp.com when the owner Frank plugged one into my truck. I admittedly was sceptical due to the negative feedback I've read. After a 5 min programming I was off to test my truck with the new settings. I immediately noticed that my truck sounded different (better). Throttle response was a lot better, and for the first time since I owned my truck I observed a little black smoke when I romped on it. I noticed quite a bit of extra power, and for the first time I hit 27 psi boost. I'm not saying that everyone will have the same results as me. Maybe my bigger than stock turbo facilitated the good results I had. Without the Super Chip calibration I would only see 25 psi boost and the boost generated much slower. Since I do not have a transmission upgrade I just might buy a Super Chip Tuner. It seems to have woken up my ctd. I've been told that the hp gain from a Super Chip Tuner should not harm my transmission. When I do get a transmission upgrade (DTT of course) I will most likely buy an Edge product.

I almost spent the $300. 00 right there on the spot to prevent Frank from deprogramming my ecm to stock configuration.

I stack the Superchips programming with an EZ, they work good together.

I am not looking for a ton of power. I am happy with the truck empty, well almost. When I put my Gang box in it the truck seems dull and sluggish. It was only 300?

Warpig, why do you have an aftermarket turbo if you don't have a box or injectors??? Just curious... .

Just a different build order. My next modification will be my transmission, then box and injectors. I'm not going to add injectors and a box without doing my transmission first. As you are aware if you add injectors and a box EGT becomes an issue.

When I do add hp EGT will not be a problem. I could add a box and injectors right now, and in 3 months or so I will need a complete transmission rebuild the way I drive. Just putting the ducks in order in a cost effective conservative way. Before I saw the light I owned a Dodge 2500 gasser. I did the dual exhaust thing along with air intake and a chip. 3 months later I was unplugging my chip and limping my truck into the dealer for a new transmission.

I hope you haven't been up all night wondering why this guy has a decent turbo with no use for it.
