FASS o-ring?????

Umm..... Pastor BOB, this needs to be moved somewhere. THis is the extreme electronically challenged forum. Try maybe Products & Accessories or 24 valve. Have you run a search? Should be TONS of info on any and all chips available. \

Superchips 1000 miles

The power programer got a 1000 miles, middle seting 50Hp performance tow. I doe not give the kick that the Comp does on 1x2 or 1x5. It an easy upgrade, there a third seting at 70HP. It will raise the temperature 100-150 at WOT.

Silly BOMB'er, Chips are for fords. (tune of "Trix are for Kids")

Here's a search result:

Short story: They don't give consistent results with the 5. 9.

Recommendation: stick with Power Edge, TST, Blue Chip Diesel, Diesel Dynamics, Van Aaken, BD---etc.

Stuff that is proven to work on 5. 9's

I have the Diesel Dynamics UFM. It is made by Power Edge and tuned by DD. Works as advertised and has lifetime warranty.

I got one a couple of months ago. I programmed it to the max performance. My tires are far less sticky than they used to be. :) It also smokes more than it used to. I also adjusted the tire size so the speedo and odo now represent the truth.

I bought mine used from a member who was bitten by the bombing bug and needed more. It has satisfied me. For now anyway. :)

i had a super chips on my 98. 5 didnt make no change on any of the settings i have read that the superchips thing does not work on the early model well i found out the hard way so i returned it. so i bought an edge ez it has a good punch in the rear now

The superchips micro processor locks onto the vehicle vin # so you can only do one vehicle at a time. You can reload the superchip program back into the superchip and use it on another truck but you can only use it on one truck at a time.

You cannot use this tuner on any vehicle except the one that it is originally installed in. It VIN locks. I tried it, the diagnostic side works on other vehicles but not the programing. The tuner does not give noticeable power increased on some engines. On my ETH it works well. A buddy bought one for his ETC and it did nothing. The tuner has been returned to Superchips for reprogramming (they have had it for over a month now). They are aware of the problem and are working on it.

Are you sure it wont work on a different truck if you load the up rate program back to the tool and put stock setting back on the truck. I am pretty sure I heard you could. If not it is almost worthless on the used market except to be used as a scan tool. Can anyone confirm if you can use it on a different truck or not.

I think daveg is right. According to the instruction sheet the superchip VIN locks once it has been used and can only be used as a DTC reader on other vehicles from then on. The way I read the instructions is even the odometer correction for different size tires VIN locks.

Did anybody read my other post? The SuperCheeps Tuner thingy works GREAT to correct tires sizes and read codes, BUT according to the gathered experience on this board--THEY don't provide consistent results on the 5. 9 Cummins.

Why bother? There are too many products out there that are guaranteed to work--and do.

If you're waiting on SC to "reflash" the thing so it will work on your truck, that's kinda like owning a 6. 0 and waiting on ford to find a reflash that'll fix it.

PowerEdge, Diesel Dynamics, TST, Bully Dog, Van Aaken, Blue Chip, heck-even Gayle BANK$ ;) makes stuff that works as advertised with our trucks.

silly BOMB'er, chips are for fords. :p

I put my ECM back to stock with the tuner and then tried to use it on a buddy's truck. The tuner is VIN locked and will not work on another ECM except for the diagnostic side.

My tuner went back to Superchips four times for reprograming. The first time because it would not recognize my ECM after the initial install (I wanted to change the performance level). They fixed that but then the speedo calibration disabled my ABS and the ABS light flashed all the time. After three more returns to Superchips they fixed that. The tuner works well now and the speedo is corrected for my 33" tall tires.

As I stated before, there is a significant power increase with the tuner on my truck but results vary on others. On some there is no noticeable power increase.

I would NOT buy a used tuner, unless they have made some programing changes it won't work.

I emailed superchips and there reply was it will work providing you go back to stock with it and the person who buys it has the same application for the tuner. So if it dose not work for me I hope they will re flash it or what ever they do to make it work.
