i am ordering a set of supermentals and would like your guys opinion on how to get the most out of them. i want to start pulling and hitting the drag strips more. i have an edge comp, the 13" south bend, 5" straight pipe, afe cold filter system, pre turbo pyro, boost and fuel pressure gages. during the week i do pull alot, usually about #8,000 on a gooseneck and as of right know i dont have a egt problem even with the comp. on 5x5 full time, i'm figuring with the super mentals i will have turn the comp. down? what do you guys think about the fuel lines? is stock still o. k. for now? please give me any input you can

thanx, Aaron

i was hopig that you guys wouldnt say that, as you can see by my profile i have the jake brake and dont think that it will work with any other turbos? :{

Hx 40 (Pdr) or a B1 at least for the mentals. You allways can sell the Jake and get a remote mount BD or the like. I love my remote and I can say it has a different sound alltogether (If that is a bonus then GREAT!)

it would be a defenate bonus if it cuts back on that woooooshing sound:rolleyes: with the 5" straight pipe it sounds like i'm bleeding an air tank at anything under 2,000rpm, I HATE THAT!!!

I think you will find also that you will need an extra fuel delivery system as your fuel pressure will probably drop to zero on the stock pump. There are a lot out there, I use Haisley Machines. Bigger lines? Yes.

I am running a similar set up. BD4s w/ edge comp (not drag version), a combo 4"/5" exhaust, and a K&N filter. I have a hybrid turbo being built that I should pick up tonight. I can easily hit 1400 deg with my HX35 running empty. As for the fuel system I replaced my factory lift pump with a Holley Blue, mounted on the frame just behind the engine, and I am using a modified Wildcat fuel system, I skipped the pretty braided lines and went with easy to work with rubber hose. I have not been able to drop my fuel pressure below 9 psi with this combo sinse I got all of the air out of the lines. I idle at 11/12 psi and cruise at 10/11 psi. If was to do it again I would mount the Blue just in front of the fuel tank and run a longer line to the filter.

Call Kendrick about some twins. You can use your stock turbo on the top and add a relatively inexepensive turbo for the larger one. It will tow even better with lower egt's and be fun to take to the strip once in a while.
