Competition Race Schedule 2003

Competition Stock DuraMax VS My Dodge Ram DieselRig

On the way home from dinner tonight w/girlfriend, I noticed a New Mercedes coupe sports car getting on the interstate at a high rate of speed.

So I proceed to catch up and pull up next to the car and try to instigate a little show of power, any how the driver a young man like myself doesnt want any, so I just take off and wait in the slow lane for the car to pass.

These guys start to pull up next to me at a pretty good rate of acceleration, the drag comp is already on 5x5 and the Piers 40 is ready to do its thing :D

I put it to the floor and this car is with me for about 2 seconds until I leave it in the backround.

Round 2, I slow down in the slow lane (again).

These guys want to make sure their $120,000 sports car just got beat by my 6 cylinder pickup.

So here they come again, I let them pass then pull in behind them.

This time they want to leave me in the dust, well I pull right up behind them at a high rate of speed and then proceed to pass in the slow lane and of course I am laughing all the way!!

So its official, I get in the slow lane again.

This time they just pass looking ahead not wanting anymore.

:-laf :-laf

Anyhow,

Its been a while since everyone has shared some street/interstate racing stories! Let 'em rip!

No one gives me any guff 'round here, not even the ricers, must be the noise, that scares them away. So Justin, how are the tires doin'? ;)

got my third the other night....

had a friend with me and was pulling out of the local Taco Bell. I was waiting for a car in the second lane of a four lane street (going same direction as I was), when I realized it was a local ricer (newer 2 door Acura, w/ 12" high wing (to keep the trunk down of course) and fancy racing stripes and all the stickers for 40 more HP). Anyway, I pull out real quick then and get next to him, and lucky me, there's a red stoplight right ahead of us. I pull up next to him, look down at him, and realize he's kissing on his g/f  All I'm thinking is "this will be fun to embarrass him in front of her", so I rev up the mighty CTD to get Uncle Ben's attention. Sure enough, he understands the call, and responds with a twang from the little soup-can on the back. Just then I look back forward and see the cross lights turning yellow... time to build boost. Hold the brake, and up to 10 PSI she comes... just as I hit 12 PSI, the light goes green, and I'm off. The ricer, I believe in a show of his "awesome power" chirps his tires, but I come off the line clean. He finally hooks up when I'm about two car lengths ahead, and he's giving her all she's got... there's no doubt in mine, or my passengers mind that he had that baby to the floor through 4 gears... . but, he never gained an inch! I pulled away all the way to about 65 MPH, which is also coincidently the same time my radar detector went ballistic with K-band. Luckily there wasn't a cop actually around, and we got the beast slowed back down to suitable speeds in good time. The ricer stayed behind me up till about three lights later, and he came flying up again... I thought he wanted to play some more, so I bumped the Comp back to 5x5 and smoked his a$$ out :D:D..... lol... . it was even better considering his windows were down!

So, he moped the rest of the way to his driveway (yes, I know where he lives, this is the second time I've seen him, first time I've truly raced him) behind me, and pulled off sharply. I'm waiting for the rematch, but I think he was surprised that my truck that weighs three times as much as his car, whooped him so bad. It was a good night for the CTD.

Sorry for the long post. Josh

Josh,

Good story!

Rob,

You probably intimidate them with all the hydraulics your vehicle possesses, they think your going to use the dump bed on them!

The tires are holding up just fine! Thank you:D

hehehehhehehheheheh!

I picture Rob, putting his bed up and down, like a low rider for stoplight intimidation!

Josh,

Keep an eye on that driveway, and let us know if CTD shows up! Wait, I'll bet he goes Chevy or Ford after a talk with the dealer to really show you up!

The other night me and my buddy were bored so we went out cruisin for some ricers. Raced an accord on a back road. I let him call it. So he takes off and gets a good jum on me. I am rowin through the gears. 2nd gear- no traction I am sliding all over the road. 3rd gear - same thing 4th gear - Finally get traction and walk right by him. Accords are easy kills so I didn't put in 4wd. All the way back to the main road, he was smellin diesel if you know what I mean. 5th gear low boost! Later raced another a visually hopped up accord and smoked him. Then the same night I raced a supercharged Mitsubishi Lancer. Told him who was the daddy all the way to 115mph. Not too bad for a Thursday night.

You know Gene, last I heard he was planning on puting some black lights under the bed for ground effects. Hey! Wonder if they make hydraulics strong enough to make a 6600# pound truck bounce up and down Oo. Oo. Oo.

ricers....

My wife and I car-pool together to work every day. She drives in the morning and I drive home. Its fun now that she has figured out how, when and why to switch the comp to 5x5. She used to ask first, but now I just watch out for any unsuspecting victoms, and keep a better watch out for the real "smokies". The other day she asked "after we get the new clutch in... is there anything we can do to make the truck faster?" I think I need to show her these forums and get my order in for some DDII's!

Well, you can't do a whole lot of on-track racing for $1250. But my racing org does require a valid drivers license for your competition license to be good.

And after my drag race with the cop who was too busy to write me up---I don't race in THAT jurisdiction anymore.

There are these 2 ricers that live just around the corner from me, and the other day I was out running around in my Mom's truck when I just happen to pull along side of one at a red light. He revs his a time or 2 So I fallow suit, when the light goes green away we go. After I grab 4th I start looking for him and low and behold he is about 4 car lengths behind me and loosing ground. :D Oo.

I personally don't race much on the street, but some of the punks in those ricers make it hard not to.

My preferred method is to leave the comp box off so that they stay within what they feel is striking distance, but just when they think they are catching up a little, then I hit the box and away I go. If that doesn't work, then there is always the nitrous, but I have never used it on the street..... yet.

Thanksgiving night I was on my way out of town, going down a newly widened street, and I noticed a little acura gaining rather quickly on my hind end. . Luckily the light ahead turned red:D . . I notice a little car next to me revving its motor with two gorgeous college girls around my age with their windows down... I just could not resist, so being we were on level ground, I bring the RPM's up to about the 2k mark, and hold them, while the HX40 is whistling defeat to Team Rice-A-Roni next to me... . cross light turns yellow, red, ours turns green, they jump off, I ease out on the CON OFE, and AWAY I GO!! they got a great 100+ Db of Cummins Turbo Diesel matched up with HX40 whining through a 4" Straight pipe, as well as a good ol' fashioned Sootin' as I flew by them!!! we get to the next light, and they just look over and wave, asking me "Do you have a chip in that thing?? I just reply :-laf :-laf Nope! I am sure they have a new respect for an 8,000 lb truck though!

Tundra Kill

Well, I didn't really know we were racing, but I happened to have the box on 5x5. ;)

I really think he was racing his buddy in the camaro behind him, but then he might have seen my gauges. Anyhoo-he jumped me off the light and pulled about two truck-lengths on me and couldn't get any more.

So I rolled up beside him at 70 and let him go for it. No dice--looked like he hit the brakes when I put my foot in the VP44. Then I backed off and let him catch up at about 90--so I nudged the ol Cummins again and he went backwards just like before. :-laf :-laf

And no blue lights this time--yeehaw!

Oh yeah, I waxed an S-10 the other night too.
