I'm in the market for a rechargeable flashlight. My POS magcharger broke the switch the first time it rolled out of the floor of the truck. I have since been told this is a common problem with the mags. Does anybody have experience with the the surefire 9an commander or the streamlight sl-20 series stingers? Or any other recomendations for a good quality rugged rechargeable?

Have you looked at the Inova T4? It is a Tactical/Police 4 watt rechargeable led (100-Lumen). Small, very bright and rugged.

Cary, thanks for that link, that T4 looks good. Bummer for me, another option now, choices getting tougher. LOL :D that is basically what im looking for though, rather compact but bright and rechargeable. I have my current pos magcharger mounted underneath the drivers seat hard wired in with a rocker switch to power up the charger. I will be doing the same with whatever light i replace it with.

Anybody else out there with some recomendations, or warnings about certain models/brands. So far 1 vote for streamlight, and one for inova. There has to be somebody out there using the surefire.

I have the Streamlight Stinger in poly, it's about three years old and the battery is getting a little iffy but it has been a good one. I like it over the leds I have seen because of the range. The police here use the Streamlights in metal so that ought to tell you something. bg

Yeah, it seems as though the streamlights sure have a strong following. I am considering the poly rechargeable. Price seems right also. I need to go see one of the LED lights, never seen one in person.

The LED light on my Inova T4 is too bright to look at for long. It will leave a latent image in your eye. Almost to bright. It has a real nice holder and comes with an AC adapter and car cord. I do like the Mag light because of its size (smack someone up the side of the head). But for it size small the Inova puts out a lot of light.

Not affiliated with Invova in anyway.

I have a streamlight 35x at home ultra stinger under the seat of my truck and the scorpion in my center console for quick use. I like the surefire lights but too much $$$$ and the streamlight's are perfect. I have dropped runover you name it. And bright as hell especially the ultrastinger. :)

I carry a Streamlight sl25 and a Streamlight Stinger on duty. (one on my belt one in my hand) I've had both for about 6 years and couldn't be happier with either.

do you want something to do double duty as a spotlight? if your looking for something fairly small, and has real good lighting, try the pelican lights. we carry them on ships, drop them in the bilge etc. and have yet to see one break or otherwise not work. i have a 2410 and its a great little light. they make them in a rechargeable, but mine is not. might be worth it to check out

I think it depends on what your looking for. Are you looking to work on your truck on the side of the road... . Get an LED light. If you are looking for something/someone in the woods or a field... . the Surefire is great.

I have a Snap-on LED light that runs on the same lithum batteries that my Surefire runs on. The Snap-on light has lasted me about 3 months on a set of batteries and it gets used every day. The Surefire is a great light, but it runs through batteries pretty quick.
