Surf Fishing Gathering - Outer Banks (Buxton), NC

Are there any other surf fishing afficianados that would like to get together on the Outer Banks of NC on 6, 7, 8 Dec 02?



I took my truck out on the sand a few weeks ago and it did just fine. It has been a long time since I drove on the beach before then and I was a little concerned about the weight. That wasn't even a problem.



I slip out of work on Friday afternoon and spend the night at Oregon Inlet. I make my way down to Buxton Sat AM, get bait (Red Drum Tackle) and breakfast, and head for the access ramps.

We spend as much time as we possibly can in OBX. Typically 3-4 times a year. I love to Pier fish and Surf fish. I wish I could go but way too much going on right now.



My truck with the stock Michelin 265's did not do so well in the deep sand at Oregon Inlet and Corolla Beach. With the 315 ProComp Xterrains I have now it is simply amazing. I didn't air down at all and it still was very impressive.

Ain't done that since 1969, but would like to go again IN THE SPRING. Damn, I must be gettin' old. Don't know if I could still call it fun breaking ice of the rod between casts.
