I have a Ryobi AP-10 Surface Planer that once belonged to my Grandfather. It's in good shape with an extra set of blades and depth adjustment guides. This is the portable all metal job made in Japan in the 80's. Does anyone know what price they go for nowadays?

The resale on the Ryobi stuff isn't to good . It's more designed for the home hobbyist. Try checking craigslist and ebay . Should give you some insite. When in ebay use the completed auction to see exactly what they sold for. I don't think Ryobi was in the states in the 80's , has to be at least a early 2k

I remember when those first came out, they were the first portable surface planer and if I remember right they went for around $400. They came out in the mid '80s and not too long after that Ryobi offered a 12" model also. Now everyone makes their own version and the price range goes from $200 to over $600 depending on model. If it is in servicable condition I think it is still a good tool for the occasional woodworker. P-bar is right, check the ads for value.
