Archived Surging at idle

Buddy of mines haul truck (03 CTD 6spd. ) is surging (constant) at idle and will almost die when he takes off. Once he get going it runs great. He has rplaced the CPS and the put a new FASS pump on.



Any ideas???

the electronic fuel control actuator , located on the high pressure fuel pump is a likely cause . the part is replaceable without removeing the pump
