Has anyone had a problem with an occasional stumble or surging with the Power Edge EZ? I noticed it a few times last summer and it did it again today. It only does at start up or sometimes in stop and go traffic, and only when the temperature is hot out, maybe 90* or above. Today it did it twice. Both times after I ran into a place and came back out and started it back up. It kind of surges for a second or two then stops. I have also noticed that the EZ feels hot to the touch lately, but maybe it has always been that way.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Chris,

I have been having a defueling sort of problem with my truck lately, I have a Comp box. See my thread https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51032 for full description of my symptoms. My truck doesn't surge, it just feels like it defuels under WOT acceleration. I had the great folks at Edge Products send me a brans new Comp, I tried it for 3 days, same behavior. I am now thinking it is my VP44 just not getting enough fuel under full acceleration, and I plan to add a helper pusher pump to make sure I never lack fuel pressure.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? You may also be having a lift pump issue.

Food for thought.

Mine does it

I have a EZ with DD111's. It's like you blip the throttle on start up. Mine does it if I'm in a hurry and push the pedal down slightly on start up. I don't think it is a problem with the EZ. Just my observation.

Probably a loose or corroded connection.

Check the connections making sure they are

tight and water has not gotten into any and

started corroding. Use "di-electric" grease

(not petroleum based) on them. Also check

the ground wire.

Mine was doing the same thing last summer

and just wiggling a few connections fixed

the problem temporarily so I went thru all

of them and no problems since.

Since it only did it after I put on the EZ, I'm sure it is the box. The connections seems fine, but I'll double check them. It is intermittent, and only does it on hot days. I'll give Edge Products a call tomorrow and run it by them. I'm also getting my fuel pressure checked Tuesday to see if I have a problem there as well.
