My dealer has offered me a free oil change for the service servey that DC sent me to fill out about service on my 03 Hemi, well I the service manager today about changeing my fluid in my trans and rear of my 96 dually instead of the free oil change because I do that myself. He told me sure bring it in saturday and they will change the trans fluid and rear fuild free just for giving them a good servey. Now the question is what came in my truck from the factory? Syn or regular 90w, I know the trans has syntorque, but what about the rear end Dana 80? what does it have from the factory in 96? It is limited slip. I think I am getting off way better than a oil change with this deal!...

thanks for the help. :(

It probably has regular 85w-90 in it, but they will probably add 85-140 syn if you ask and really think you need it.

They buy their oils in bulk, even the Syntorx is cheap for them.

Hope you trust your dealer. I don't and have always felt that the freebie oil changes they offer is just a way they use to get unknowledgeable folks in so as to find something else to charge them to fix whether it needs it or not.

oil

Well he knows me and I have known him for 20 years, I have been a certified Cummins mechanic for 17 years so he knows I will recheck there work.
