A few months ago I had Dodge mechanics replace all 4 ball joints on the front end because they where bad, then they aligned the front end, since then (1000 mi ago) I have put new Rancho RS5000 on every thing was fine until now. I am getting a banging noise when I run on a rough road or hit rough spots on a hwy. I have checked and made sure that all the shock bolts are tight and can not see anything that might be loose on the A-frame and checked the wheel to make sure nothing is loose on it, I replaced the calipers, wheel bearings, rotors and linings about 1500 miles ago. Has anyone had this problem before, if so what was the cause? It is only on the passengers side of the vehicle that I get this noise. I am going to take the shock off to see if it is defective but I have not done that to date. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Someone on here said they experienced something similar after replacing shocks. They found the bushing was too big that the shock mounting bolt goes through.

Double check that they are on tight. Had same problem once-put shocks on with borrowed air gun and went back to tighten them twice. Finally got them tight enough (different gun) and noise disappeared.

Once I got a defective shock, the bush pulled out of the lower mounting eye. It was clanging around in there something terrible. They warrantied the shock but charged me to install.
