Im impressed with the Logo, i like the first one, don't consider myself a diesel hotrod as im still stock on both trucks... But those are kewl!!!!

DieselRam im shocked someone that actually knows where this place i live is, thats a million to one shot, i attended OHA during the summer after i graduated for algebra classes to attend college, was there in '92.

Yeah man it's a T in the road, with the post office and the southern states. is the mountain house still there? we used to go on tuesday nights and pig out on some shimp

yeah we have a new post office now, its on up the highway just after you pass the entrance to OHA. The farm supply they moved back to the old building not sure if you remember the small dam in the creek but there used to be a steel bridge went across the creek their back up that road and Yep the Mountain house is still there and still in business, my dad and i order out from there every so often...

Neal, the logo looks great! You did great on capturing the effect of the area and keeping a neutrality that will draw a lot of folks together. Getting started in this way will lead to including a lot of venues...

Whichever name everyone wants is fine! I think it will look great on quite a few items, t-shirts, hats, etc...

WyattEarp: Mouth of Wilson... I know where that is as I used to have a good friend who lived in Grant, and I worked in Bristol for about 9 years. Great bunch of folks live around that area! I went hunting with him on top of Mt. Rogers a few times. Beautiful!!! Congrats on the hunting success, and I look forward to meeting you when we get together again!

Guess its a small world with this group. G. Tobey, I did my undergrad work at ETSU.

I apologize for not being around lately, getting a new home finalized in NOVA. We are in the process of moving this week and next. I'll still try to swing back down to make events. It seems Neal and I see more of each other at "non-events" than we do scheduled ones...

Jan. Meet

Well i checked my schedule and i believe you guys were going to have another meet on Jan. 21, well i have to work that saturday dagnabit  , if the date changes to the next weekend or the one before that i am free as i work every other weekend as im am working this weekend...

I understand how it is... it seems too many things are tugging at us daily, and that we can't all be in the same place at the same time.

What about it guys... would the 21st be the best time, or would the 28th be better. Phil, what do you think? Did we have conflicts with the 28th? I can't remember...

28th is good for me. I think we picked the 21st as it was about 2 months from when we met the first time. I would like to see a larger turnout. I know some of the folks from the outlying areas have to plan a lot to get there, so either date is good for me. I'm only an hour away, so will yield to those with longer drives.

The 28th is good for me but don't want you guys to move the date because of me, i will eventually make it. And you guys can give me some what nots and what for's on the '92. I don't plan to bomb but would like some seasoned veterans of the 1st gen. trucks to give me their opinions on it. So far i got the thumbs up with the pic so thats a real joy for me.

Since doing the oil change saturday it seems to start better first thing of the morning while im at work, it sits for 12hrs while i do my thing, i believe it was for sure overdue on the oil change, she will smile now, every 5000 she will get new Rotella

If it's the 28th, so be it. :( I'll be in Ill. at the drag racing expo that weekend; business duties, you know.

Keep it alive! We can't all make every meeting, but so long as enough make each, we'll grow and thrive. Besides, this keeps it interesting; every meeting, there'll be new folks to meet! And there's nothing wrong with scheduling it so new folks can meet. Let's keep scheduling it for new peoples' calendars.

We should also consider selecting a 'secretary' (perhaps per GTG) to keep track of and report the goings-on here and maybe in other fora (thedieselgarage.com, for instance).

Places for good food: El Torero (or their cousins) for Mexican, New York Deli for ... the obvious, Jimmy V's for sammiches and pizza, Mac & Bob's for good food (though parking could be problematic depending on the time of day), The Home Place (in Catawba) for good eat-what-they-serve, Mama Marie's or Luigi's for Italian... We dieselheads sure like to eat, don't we? :D :D

Mike,

TDR membership is not required. I would like to keep it all Cummins, but sooner or later those "other" diesels will want to show up. :-laf :-laf

Let me know when you're coming through, and I'll convoy down with you. Would you go 77 to 81? I'm right next door to you all.

It will be 81, thats the way i will be going to roanoke... im west of Galax about 40min... I think im the farthest away LOL... . Good to see your going Mike, it will be good to see others from around also and put a face with a post so to speak.

I forgot,, of course i had just woke when i posted, I think its easier for Mike to hit 77 up and then get on 81... . I have no choice but to pick up 81 in Wytheville... don't know what i was thinking sorry there Mike...

I have Jan. 28th on my calendar, I'm a definite maybe (will have to see the ol' work schedule as the time approaches).

Where and what time? Is there someone who is a quasi leader(s) who can just decide?
