so does anyone have these things or has anyone seen them on a 2nd gen truck? Sounds like a sweet size and tire just looking for anyone with experience before I take the dive.

How do they ride?

MPG loss over comparable sized tire?

Longevity?

TIA

Ted

A friend of mine had them on his Jeep. We figured the SSR stood for Super Sh*tty Radial. If you plan on using them offroad, watch the sidewalls and get the road hazard warranty. This guy went through 4 sidewalls (which were covered under warranty). We never had a chance to see how long they lasted on the road!

If you're concerned about ride and longevity

I wouldn't suggest Super Swampers. While the ones on my Sami are TSLs not SSRs, the ride is barely tolerable for sort distances on pavement. But, I didn't buy my Super Swampers for pavement or longevity. I bought them for the rocks. They work very well there.

If you want aggressive tread, good ride, etc. look at the Goodyear or BFG mud tires. They're closer to 12. 5" wide, but my MT/Rs ride and wear better than the stock Michelins.

thanks for the replies guys. I am still looking for someone that has used the tires. I have quite a bite of experience with them on jeeps and yotas. They do not have the bullet proof sidewalls of the traditional swampers like the tsl but on the lighter vehicles have very good road manners. The 35-10. 5 is the only tire out there i have seen with those dimmensions and is a 10 ply rated tire. I run 295 bfg atko right now and am considering a 35 but do not want to take a cut in load capasity which is the casse with mtr's, bfg mts and ats. I am also not interested in picking up much if any width.

The moral of the story is that the tire i am really looking for does not exist. Anyone ever heard of a 285/85r16 E?
all advise is welcome
Thanks
Ted
